The Internet is perplexed: what the hell is that creature swimming in the River Thames?

A mysterious creature lurking beneath the waters of the River Thames was caught on film and has everybody running for their lives debating on its identity.

The eerie footage shows what seems to be a pair of massive fins bobbing out of the water for a few seconds before submerging again. Its shadow can still be seen beneath the surface, metres across the O2 arena in Greenwich, South East London.

Some speculate it could just be another April Fools’ Day joke. Others say it’s Nessie. The most plausible explanation would be is it’s simply a sperm whale.
