The exquisite beauty of Iceland, captured in dramatic infrared photos

If Andy Lee can’t convince you to visit Iceland, no one will. This UK-based photographer amazed us with his roads less travelled photography last year, but now we’re back with another one of his photo series simply called ‘Blue Iceland’.

The photos Lee took are from his first trip to Iceland and he used a special technique to make the country’s landscape come alive — an infrared light-sensitive camera. He also used a filter that ‘shades some of all visible light wavelengths, emphasizing infrared wavelengths instead’.
