Video game fools media, makes them think it’s of ISIS fighters being killed

Iranian state TV recently aired footage of a sniper picking off six ISIS fighters in just under two minutes. Except it wasn’t a real sniper, or real ISIS fighters.

The headline read: ‘Six Daesh combatants are killed in 2 minutes by a Hezbollah sniper’. Other news agencies quickly reported this amazing feat, even adding a bit of colour, saying the sniper’s gun was an Iranian model called an ‘Arash’.

Impressive, truly impressive – that is, if this was real.

Turns out the footage was taken from video game Medal of Honor. And to prove it, check out the parts where the sniper gamer gets a head shot. An icon of a head with crosshairs pops up at the bottom every time…
