If you’re into history, you’ll want to stay at the Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan in Japan. This beautiful site has been operating as a hotel since 705 AD and has stayed in the same family for 52 generations.
The Nishiyama Onsen Keiunkan holds the Guinness World Record for the world’s oldest hotel and has hosted all sorts of people over the centuries, including military commanders, politicians and samurai.
The hotel was renovated back in 1997 but everything inside is still as traditional as ever. But don’t think just because it was renovated you’ll be able to spend your downtime surfing the web — there’s no WiFi access at this place!
Though why would you need Internet access? This hotel features an authentic hot spring on it…
