When the time came for bicycle company SRAM to build a new office, they wanted a place that reflected their cycling culture. So to start things off, they put in a 1/8 mile indoor bike lane!
The Chicago-based company moved into a 1920’s era cold storage facility and turned it into a cyclist’s dream office. The 72,000-square-foot HQ features 200 bike racks, a bike-washing station, and a locker room with showers. All 150 employees also get to enjoy an open air floor plan, a massive pantry, an outdoor deck, and a café.
As for materials, architecture firm ‘Perkins+Will’ also put in quaint details like bicycle grip tape on the door handles.
