While many of us avoid food at the supermarket that’s about to expire, there’s a grocery store in Denmark that only sells this kind of food.
WeFood opened in Copenhagen recently and is already popular among the locals for its discounted items that would’ve ended up in the trash had the shop not ‘saved’ them.
“WeFood is the first supermarket of its kind in Denmark and perhaps the world, as it is not just aimed at low-income shoppers but anyone who is concerned about the amount of food wastage produced in the country,” project head Per Bjerre said. “Many people see this as a positive and politically correct way to approach the issue.”
