Photographer uses LED-rigged drones to create extraterrestrial photo series

It’s a stunningly simple idea, but the concept behind this collection of photographs from Reuben Wu is all the more amazing for the fact that we’ve not seen anything quite like it before.

This is not the first time that Wu, a Chicago-based photographer, has created images with otherworldly qualities and a clear sci-fi influence (check out his photographs of blue lava!) This series, entitled Lux Noctis, is an attempt to create the impression that the viewer is looking out onto the eerie surface of an alien planet.
