Instead of people going to art galleries, why don’t the art galleries go to the people? This is the brilliant idea behind a project in Spain wherein artworks go mobile using freighters.
Called the ‘Truck Art Project’, the program features ten trucks modified as moving exhibits. Over 100 proposals were considered for the project, and some of the country’s best-known artists – including Javier Arce, Okuda San Miguel, Daniel Munoz, Javier Calleja, Abraham Lacalle, and Suso33 – are involved.
The project hopes to bring art to isolated places, where cultural spaces are either non-existent or inaccessible. Apart from the murals on their trailers, the trucks will also house exhibitions inside.
