One of Mexico’s most prolific artists, Frida Kahlo, grew up like many other girls. She was the apple of her father’s eye and he wanted to photograph her every chance he got. And thank goodness for that, because now we’ve been spoiled with the snapshots Guillermo Kahlo took of his daughter as she grew up on the outskirts of Mexico City.
Frida’s father was actually born in Germany as Carl Wilhelm Kahlo, but boarded a ship for Mexico when he was 19, changed his named to ‘Guillermo’ and never returned to his home country.
