Brilliant surfer portraits taken in the early AM at Australia’s Bondi Beach

Last month we introduced you to talented photographer Bryce Thomas in our inaugural Young Creative Australians Awards. This Aussie has been busy since and recently launched a photo book — Wave — which contains nearly 150 portraits of surfers at the iconic Bondi Beach.

Each photograph in the book paints a portrait of the wider surfing community in Australia. Bryce photographed surfers in the early hours of the morning over a month, with both local and travelling surfers captured in the series.

We spoke to Bryce about his new book, how he came up with the concept of Wave and whether or not he’s interested in capturing other surfing communities around the world (psst, he is!).
