24 years ago, artist Bruce Munro visited Uluru in Australia and was so inspired by the landscape, he created his famous installation ‘Field of Lights’. Now everything’s come full circle as he brings the artwork to the Red Desert.
‘Field of Lights’ features thousands and thousands of stems holding colourful bulbs. Once the power is turned on, the orbs become a field of illumination, instantly making any location like a fairy tale setting.
‘I wanted to create an illuminated field of stems that, like the dormant seed in a dry desert, would burst into bloom at dusk with gentle rhythms of light under a blazing blanket of stars’, he said.
