Visit an authentic Alpine village… in northern Venezuela!

While travelling through northern Venezuela, most travellers opt to visit the capital — Caracas — and venture through the city streets, admiring the beautiful architecture and iconic landmarks. But there’s another place in the country’s north visitors should put on their must-see list: Colonia Tovar.

Colonia Tovar is the exact replica of an Alpine village. The villagers didn’t rip off a place in Germany just for the hell of it, but rather, the town was founded in the mid-1800s by a group of German immigrants.
